The Fine Combination Of Religion & Technology

pooja samagri

Ever since I can remember, god, religion and faith have been a huge part of my life. Back in the early 2000’s, my parents used to head down to local markets before every festival to stock up on pooja essentials. This process would take up nearly a day and whole lot of energy. Back then, that was the only option. Now however, technology has found a way to give religion a boost it’s probably never seen before.

The rise of digital marketing and media provided a huge chance to online spiritual marketplaces. Afterall, everyone has some faith of their own and everyone, especially in countries like India, feel protected having the presence of a deity at home. As a result, the moment pooja brands came online featuring essentials like idols, bells, accessories, pooja samagris and more, people were quick to pounce.

Back in the day, people had to spend hours waiting in markets and running around in the heat in order to collect everything they needed for their poojas. Now, it can all be delivered home with a few clicks. What amazes me most about this is how modern tech helped promote and keep ancient beliefs and practices alive.
